Geaux Bald
Geaux Bald is a fundraising organization led by second-year medical students at LSU Health Shreveport that was founded in 2011 following a cancer diagnosis of a beloved LSUHS faculty member.
In 2023, we announced plans to support a local cause that will impact cancer patients in North Louisiana and beyond — the restoration of The McDade House as hospitality lodging for Ochsner LSU Health – Feist-Weiller Cancer Center! Nearly 50% of patients at Feist-Weiller have to travel 20 miles or more to receive care that can span multiple days.
Receiving a cancer diagnosis is taxing enough on the patient, their family, and their friends, and we are eager to reduce some of the financial and logistical burdens, allowing these patients to focus on their health. With your support, Geaux Bald will help these patients and their families in a time of need.

Sing for a Cause
Sing for a Cause is the ultimate karaoke night presented by LSUHS medical students. Students vote on classmate performances to raise money and sing along to the captivating performances!
Shave Day
The pinnacle event of the year is Shave Day, a day of recognition and celebration of the hard work throughout the year! Students and faculty members shave or cut their hair in honor of cancer patients who lose their hair during treatment.
